Five-Day Commercial Move in Wynwood, Miami
Large-scale commercial relocations are never just about transportation. They’re about timing, logistics, coordination, and execution. Especially when the project spans multiple days, multiple locations, and tens of thousands of pounds of high-value materials.
At the end of August, our team at Biscayne Moving Co. completed one of the most complex commercial moving projects we’ve handled to date: a five-day commercial relocation for Portobello America, a world-leading name in premium ceramic surfaces and architectural tile.
The project involved relocating inventory, materials, and office furnishings from a warehouse in Pompano Beach into Portobello America’s brand-new showroom in Wynwood, Miami — a space designed to showcase craftsmanship, scale, and design excellence.
Planning a Multi-Day Commercial Move Across South Florida
Every successful commercial move starts long before the first truck is loaded. In this case, planning was critical. The scope of work extended across five consecutive days, involved six professional commercial movers, two moving trucks, multiple flatbed deliveries, and precise scheduling to keep everything moving smoothly through Labor Day weekend.
The pickup point was Portobello America’s warehouse in Pompano Beach, while the destination was their newly built showroom in Wynwood, Miami, Florida — one of the city’s most active commercial districts. Coordinating between warehouse operations, street access in Wynwood, elevator usage, and flatbed arrivals required a detailed logistics plan and constant communication.
This was not a standard warehouse-to-office move. It was a staged commercial transition designed to support the launch of a flagship showroom.
Bringing Portobello America’s Wynwood Showroom to Life
By the second day of the project, the scale of the move became clear. That day alone involved relocating and assembling over 30,000 pounds of ceramic tile, metal display boxes, office furniture, desks, couches, and showroom fixtures.
Many of the tile products arrived on oversized pallets via flatbeds, too large to move as single units into the building. Because the showroom is located on the second floor, every pallet had to be carefully broken down at street level, with materials transferred piece by piece.
To make this possible, our team of commercial movers built and adapted custom dollies and hand-truck configurations specifically designed to support heavy ceramic slabs while fitting safely inside freight elevators. Each load was secured, balanced, and transported with precision, protecting both the product and the building.
Precision Logistics Inside a Wynwood Commercial Showroom
Wynwood presents its own logistical challenges. Limited curb access, active pedestrian traffic, and tight delivery windows mean commercial movers must work efficiently without disrupting surrounding businesses.
Throughout the project, our crew coordinated street-level unloading, elevator scheduling, and interior placement so that materials arrived in the showroom in the exact sequence needed for assembly and layout. Tile crates, metal framing, and display elements were staged strategically to support installation without congestion.
By the end of the week, the total volume moved exceeded 30 tons of material — the equivalent of over 60,000 pounds — all handled by experienced commercial movers trained in large-scale logistics and showroom installations.
Full-Service Junk Removal and Daily Site Cleanup
A major but often overlooked part of large commercial moves is debris management. With thousands of pounds of tile, packaging, crates, and pallets being unpacked, daily junk removal was essential to keep the project moving forward.
At the end of each workday, our team removed empty pallets, broken packaging, shrink wrap, and discarded materials from the site. This daily cleanup allowed Portobello America’s installation teams to begin each morning with a clear, organized workspace — improving safety, efficiency, and workflow.
This level of service is especially important in high-end commercial moves, where presentation and progress go hand in hand.
Working Through Labor Day: Commitment Without Compromise
Commercial timelines don’t pause for holidays. To stay on schedule, our crew worked straight through Labor Day on September 1st, maintaining the same level of care, attention, and professionalism throughout the entire five-day project.
Six experienced miami movers, multiple vehicles, flatbed coordination, and long workdays all came together to support one goal: delivering a seamless commercial relocation that matched the quality and reputation of the brand moving in.
By the final day, the showroom had fully transitioned from an empty shell to a functional, organized, and installation-ready space.
A Commercial Move Built on Experience and Execution
Large commercial relocations require more than manpower — they demand experience, planning, and adaptability. From warehouse logistics in Pompano Beach to second-floor delivery in Wynwood, this project showcased what’s possible when professional commercial movers approach a job with structure and precision.
We’re proud to have supported Portobello America during such an important transition and to have played a role in bringing their Wynwood showroom to life. Projects like this highlight the value of choosing a moving company that understands complex commercial moves, heavy materials, and multi-day logistics throughout Miami and South Florida.
If you’re planning a commercial move, showroom installation, or large-scale relocation in Miami, Wynwood, or anywhere in South Florida, experience makes all the difference.
